Day 28: around Ubud

Slathered in sunscreen and repellent, we took to the streets of Ubud, Bali's cultural hub in the center of the island and mecca of craft-wood and stone caving, textiles, leather, woven goods, jewelery, dance, painting, art, antiques, and whatever else I'm forgetting.

They may have embraced capitalism but their religious duties are not neglected. Bali has more practicing Hindus than other Indonesia islands so there are many ancient temples, rituals performed, and evidence of offerings and talismans in town.

Except at our bungalow's little shrine. I'm thinking this is why our bungalow struggles with evil spirits so.
